South of the river, lotus to be gathered; how full and round the lotus leaves!
Fish play among the lotus leaves —
fish play east of the leaves, fish play west of the leaves,
fish play south of the leaves, fish play north of the leaves.
How it is sung 演唱方式
假声男高音的信号与循环模块。
Each singer has short signals and looping modules. The looping modules may be repeated, starting from any one of them and singing through to the last, while the signals are declaimed soloistically, with vibrato and ornaments — so the fish seem to play east, west, south and north among the four voices.
每位歌者都有简短的“信号”与“循环模块”。循环模块可以从任何一个开始，一直唱到最后一个，并反复循环；信号则以独唱方式、带着颤音与装饰音朗声唱出——于是鱼儿仿佛在四个声部之间，游戏于东、西、南、北。
